Solar Arc

The sun does not always rise in full view. Sometimes it appears at the edge of a form, half-emerged, as if the ceramic itself is the horizon. This dish holds that moment: yellow glaze pooling into the clay's curve like the first light caught by still water. The border encircling the arc draws from tile vocabularies found from Iznik to Isfahan, where repeating petal-and-dot sequences were never merely decorative but carried rhythm and intention. Here, orange and red petals alternate against a white ground, anchored by teal accents and a cobalt wave that traces the boundary between order and open space. The undecorated field to the right is deliberate. It invites the eye to rest, to linger in the off-white quiet, to feel the weight of handmade clay beneath a pattern that chooses exactly where to stop.
