About Shirin
Painter · Ceramic artist · Sculptor · Poet · Chef
Three decades of making across paint, gold leaf, ceramic clay, and the unreliable colors of a Persian kitchen.

I work until the surface stops needing me.
— Shirin

What the work is made of
- 01
Acrylic painting
Loose pigment, stiff palette knife, sometimes a fingertip — color built up in waves until the surface holds light.
- 02
Hand-thrown ceramic
Wet clay, a slow wheel, and the patience that learning Persian calligraphy requires. Plates inscribed in poetry, fired with cobalt and gold.
- 03
Clay sculpture
Coil-built relief and small forms pressed with vintage lace, fired matte, sometimes touched with a single bead.
- 04
Mixed media
Paper, pigment, dried petal, gold leaf — materials that ask different things and answer in different voices.
