Golden Lotus Paisley

The paisley is one of the oldest forms in textile and decorative art, tracing its lineage through Persian, Mughal, and Ottoman workshops before it ever reached the looms of the West. Here, Shirin reinterprets that ancient teardrop in fired clay, pressing lotus-petal texture directly into the soft surface so that the flower becomes the ground itself. The amber glaze deepens toward orange at the edges, recalling the late-afternoon light that filters through bazaar awnings. The four green lotus centres sit quietly across the field, neither symmetrical nor random, balanced the way a conversation balances when both speakers are listening. Wearing this brooch is a small act of carrying something slow and considered into the speed of ordinary days.
