Bloom Fragment

The diamond is an old shape for amulets: pointed downward to draw earth's energy, open at the top to receive light. This pendant borrows that geometry and fills it with a garden imagined from memory, the kind of garden that lives in tilework and textile borders rather than any particular soil. Shirin built the motif in layers, adding each color before the last had fully dried, so the cerulean blue bleeds gently into the coral corners and the amber rays radiate from a center that is almost turquoise. The gold dust applied after glazing gives the whole surface a quiet luminosity, as if the piece has been sitting in afternoon sun for a long time. Worn on a simple black cord, it rests at the collarbone like a small tile broken from a larger story. The fragment is enough. It carries the pattern.
