Solar Bloom Set

Sunflowers have always carried a particular kind of stubbornness, the way they hold their faces toward the light no matter what surrounds them. This set began as an observation of that persistence, translated into clay. Each element was hand-formed separately: the earrings pressed into soft oval domes, the ring face worked into a full circle, the pendant cut into a half-disc that opens like a horizon. The radiating petal lines were scored by hand before bisque firing, so each groove holds the amber glaze in its own small reservoir. No two pieces pool the color in exactly the same way. Worn together or one at a time, the set carries the feeling of a late-summer afternoon, warm and unhurried, where the light seems reluctant to leave.
