Where Water Meets Green

Some paintings begin with intention; this one began with surrender. The brush was set aside early, and the paint was allowed to find its own path across the primed canvas. Blue arrived first, pooling and spreading the way a sky reflected in still water will ripple when you breathe too close. Green came from below, climbing to meet it, carrying the particular yellow-green of new growth after rain. Where the two currents crossed, teal formed without planning, a color that belongs equally to water and to forest. The scattered drops along the margins are not accidents; they are the moment the gesture exceeded its own boundaries. The white ground holds everything without competing. Silence is part of the composition here, as it is in most things worth looking at slowly.
